In 2004 Assembly Bill AB 2880 was a landmark bill in California that requires guards to meet the 40 hour training requirements below.
Per BSIS Code Section 7583.6 (f) (1) starting 1/5/05 all guards need to have 8 hours of training a year to (retain) their guard card
